Your Privacy: Protected by Tori
I can be a bit neurotic about my own privacy – you might even say it's one of my personal quirks. Thanks to my neurosis? You can feel confident that I'll do everything in my power to protect your private and personal information, too.
I solemnly swear that any information I collect on Quirkipreneurs.com will be used only for the stated purposes of consensual good, and never for evil. And I'll never sell your name and email address to third parties, including but not limited to spammers, secret agents or ancient aliens.
Got it? Good!
Since the software running this thing may collect certain types of data, I thought you needed to know a bit about how that all works.
As with most websites, basic information is automatically collected in log files with each visit. The logs may include your ISP and IP address, what browser you’re using, the time you visited our site and which pages you visited on Quirkipreneurs.
If you leave a comment or use the contact form? The software saves whatever information you entered, including your email address and name, your URL and Twitter nicks if you enter them, as well as the text of your comment itself.
If you subscribe via RSS feed, information about your feed reader, items you’ve viewed or clicked, and your email address (if you signed up via email subscription) are collected, and used to deliver published content to you.
And if you sign up for a newsletter? Yepp, any info you enter is collected and used to deliver that newsletter, and in some cases, info on which emails you've opened and what links you clicked on is logged, as well.
Sounds a bit creepy put like that, doesn’t it?
But no worries… the software can't actually read your mind. And creepy as it sounds, a lot of the data collection is built into the software, and necessary to deliver the site and any newsletters. The information is used to help me know if I'm actually reaching my readers, to make it possible to reply to comments and contacts, and to serve up those RSS Feeds.
About Cookies and Web Beacons:
But I promise to only partner with trusted, reputable companies which have established privacy policies of their own, so even that limited information is kept… well.. private.
You’re welcome to turn off our cookies (and any third party cookies, as well) through your browser or security system settings. I can’t promise it won’t interfere with your use of the site, but it shouldn’t cause many problems.
And if you have any questions, please ask! <-- this link leads to a web-form which, yes, will collect and save data -- which I promise never to use for nefarious purposes! Cross my quirk and hope to die!
